Tanner Laws Band is a country music band out of Missoula, Montana made up of two current UM students (Sam and Owen), a software engineer (Eric), and a former Civil Engineer and Montana Tech alumnus (Tanner). The classic country sound remains alive and well through their original songs telling stories of hunting, fishing, enjoying the great outdoors, and life lessons of growing up in Montana. Only performing together since January 2024, the group has quickly grasped a hold on the honky-tonks, dance halls, and rodeo events around the state of Montana.
The band is already lined up to play several big events in 2024 like being a headliner at the 2024 Music in the Missions concert on June 22nd, playing at the Three Forks Rodeo street dance on July 19, as well as playing a show with Randall King and Braxton Keith on August 3rd at the 2024 Phillips County Fair. Last year, Tanner opened up for Clint Black, Dustin Lynch, Sam Barber, Mitchell Tenpenny, Marty Stuart, and The Wilder Blue along with winning 2023 NW-CMA Songwriter of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Local Solo Artist of the Year. Other artists they love to cover at shows consist of George Strait, Johnny Cash, Brooks & Dunn, and Alan Jackson, as well as modern artists like Tyler Childers, Noah Kahan, and Zach Bryan.
