Hailing from South Alabama and spending over a decade on the New Orleans music scene, revered singer-song writer Grayson Capps has found listeners the world over enthralled by his stinging tales of the Southern Gothic. Over the course of seven critically acclaimed studio albums and a cameo appearance in the Golden Globe Award-nominated film ‘A Love Song For Bobby Long,’ one will find stunning depth to Capps’ discography, authenticating Capps as a rare American gem—equal parts country singer, bluesman, rockstar, philosopher and poet. Jam Base declares, “Southern marvel Grayson Capps is alive and well and slowly building one of the most phenomenal song books in America today. If ever there were a cat primed to pick up where Lowell George and John Prine have left off, it’s Capps,” while American Song writer calls him, “one of Americana’s most talented and under recognized artists. “Capps most recent release is a snarling, electrified protest song entitled “My Body” that was written from the perspective of an Alabama woman in 2026. It was preceded by his 2024 studio album, Heartbreak, Misery & Death, on which the beloved Alabama-based troubadour—joined by his long-standing guitarist Corky Hughes—turns his attention to 16 classic folk and traditional songs originally written and performed by artists ranging from Doc Watson and Jerry Jeff Walker to Randy Newman and Gordon Lightfoot. Introduced to these timeless touchstones as a child by his father, they’d catalyze Capps’ love for music at a young age, while in forming the vernacular he so eloquently explores in his own body of work.
