Annie Bartholomew is a clawhammer banjo player inspired by the ghosts of Alaska’s mining past. Her debut album Sisters of White Chapel uses historic source material and Appalachian stringband traditions to explore themes of survival, resilience, and revelry through her original folk songs about Victorian women who traveled north during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Annie’s music has been featured on NPR Music’s All Songs Considered, the Bluegrass Situation, and was named one of Folk Alley’s Top albums of 2023.
