Amy Kate Thompson is a solo act of spinning soul and sound. Inspired by place, one foot in the rocky mountain west and one foot in the wide rivers of the mid(west), and a traveler at heart, her music will make you travel – down, in, and right on back out. Always towards each other. A lifetime poet, and musician of 20 years, her music is steeped in stories. With musical influences of Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile, and a dash of Whitney Houston – you’ll find her singing sweet ballads right before wailing out to stark sky. A longtime singer-songwriter, Amy has spent much of her life avoiding her own musical heartbeat. She’s singing now, y’all. Her music flows like tributaries into muddy truth and the heartbreaking beauty of what it means to be human. Her sets have been known to include colorful commentary, heartfelt poetry, and backcountry wisdom. She’s working on a forthcoming album, and she’d like to sing you a song.
