Foreshadow

Shadow Devereaux, also known by his stage name Foreshadow, is a prominent Salish and Blackfeet hip hop artist, audio engineer, and advocate for indigenous youth. Hailing from the Flathead Indian Reservation, Shadow has spent over a decade honing his craft, merging his deep cultural roots with the rhythms and beats of modern hip hop. His music serves as a powerful voice for indigenous communities, blending themes of struggle, resilience, and positivity.

In 2022, Shadow won a Native American Music Award for Best Narrative in Video for his song, “Protect Your People,” a testament to his storytelling and artistic impact. In 2024, he contributed to the documentary “Bring Them Home,” creating a song that highlights the Blackfeet tribe’s efforts to return the original herd of bison to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The documentary, narrated by Lily Gladstone, adds another layer of cultural significance to his body of work. This piece of work specifically is very import
because he is a part of the Blackfeet Nation and has roots in the community.

As Foreshadow, Shadow Devereaux uses his art not only to entertain but also to educate and inspire. He is deeply committed to his community, working alongside his collaborator Colter Olmstead to teach film and music classes on and off the reservation Through these efforts, they aim to empower the next generation, providing them with the tools and resources to express themselves and create their own paths.

Shadow’s work is more than just music—it’s a mission. He strives to be a role model for indigenous youth, showing them that with dedication and hard work, they can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness. His influence extends beyond the stage, as he continues to use his platform to uplift his community and share their stories with the world.

In 2024, Shadow became the first grant recipient of the Billy Conway Artist Fund resulting in a collaboration with Grammy Award winning producer, Lophiile (Ty Acord). The resulting album “Perfect Timing” is slated for release March 18.

DJ Lophiile

Known for bringing hip-hop energy into electro-funk and R&B, Lophiile (Tyler Acord) made a name for himself as a go-to producer for breaking artists. He’s written and produced for some of indie and electronic music’s most promising artists: GoldLink, H.E.R. (for which he won a Grammy), Gallant, Ray Blk, Moss Kena, Nick Grant, Freddie Gibbs, Skrillex and Zedd.

Getting into production as a young child after his dad happened upon some old-school equipment, the multigenre musician got his first taste of success after working as an intern at Atlantic Records. While most in his position spent their days fetching coffee and photocopying, Acord enjoyed a chance meeting with an electronic-music superstar that helped propel him toward success.

“I was mainly pulling in orders and taking out trash, but I got to be in the studio environment,” he recalls. “One time, Skrillex came in with Ellie Goulding to work on a track. The engineer on the session didn’t really have much to do because Skrillex does a lot of the work himself. So the engineer let me take over the studio as an intern, and I was in charge of all the recording. That started a relationship with him. I was about 20, I had braces, and I looked terrible—but me and Skrillex really hit it off.”

The bond stalled briefly while Acord went out on the road with his new band, Issues— a nu-metal group beefed up by the producer’s electronic stabs—before the pair connected years later, culminating in numerous writing sessions. In the meantime, Acord honed his craft in everything from amped-up future bass to brooding R&B, collaborating with artists across a spectrum of genres and talents, most recently as producer for Blackfeet/Salish hip hop artist Foreshadow.
